Submission guidelines

Please use the form at the bottom of this page to submit your poem/s contained in a single .doc, .wps or .rtf document, entering any accompanying message in the 'Notes' box. Please note that the form does not confirm that the file has been attached, but you will receive auto-confirmation when your submission is received by our mail server. If we find that your file is not attached, we will let you know.

We strongly suggest that you read at least two issues of Lighten Up Online (not just the submission guidelines!) before deciding whether or not to submit your own work.

Submissions should be in English. Please do not submit more than three poems for each issue.

By submitting to Lighten Up Online, you give us your guarantee that you are sole copyright holder in the work submitted.

Items published in Lighten Up Online will remain available in its archive files indefinitely. Copyright remains with the author, who will be free to use them elsewhere.

Acceptance will normally be within two weeks. If you haven't heard from us within two weeks of submission, assume the worst.

Please do not resubmit poems unless you have been specifically asked to do so.

Previous publication elsewhere will be no bar to acceptance by Lighten Up Online, provided that copyright has been retained by you.
