Welcome to Lighten Up Online, the quarterly light verse webzine.

We believe that light verse is very far from being the poor relation of “proper” poetry. 

On this site you will find work by light verse specialists as well as by some of the many “proper” poets who enjoy it and write it and agree that light verse deserves a wider audience than it is normally given. 

If you feel as we do, then you are welcome to send us some of your own work for consideration for inclusion in our future Issues which will appear each September, December, March and June.

 

All past issues will remain available on this site, and can be selected from the list to the left. Please submit poetry news items to the following address: news@lightenup-online.co.uk.
