From Moses to Rome and the Forum
The ages spin past in a blur,
But in saecula saeculorum
Whatever has passed will recur.
The leaders and lawyers are lying,
The soldiers are marching to war,
The star-crossed young lovers are dying,
And all of it's happened before.
The Great Plague and Fire of London,
The wars that cost millions of men,
And all of the ways we are undone
Will come back to haunt us again.
Foreclosure and debt have bereft me
Of shelter, employment, and more.
My louse of a lover has left me,
And all of it's happened before.
