"It’s always fun and nobody takes it seriously.”
Peggy Peden, 73, in The Wall Street Journal

The country club which aims to please
A membership of retirees
Should add to its facilities
A site where most can play with ease.

This lawn, or court, to be precise,
Is oh-so-trendy, oh-so-nice,
When golf has much too high a price
For spines or joints fixed once or twice.

Both men and women there compete
In clothing white and quite elite
Till one side must accept defeat –
Then all repair inside to eat.

So many long to brag about
How life has yet to peg them out.

2 people playing croquet.
