Someone left my cake out in the rain.
I don't think that I can take it
For it took so long to bake it
And I'll never find the recipe again.

It's been too badly damaged, in the main.
So they've asked me to rebake it.
   I think that's a bad mistake. It
seems easier to flush it down the drain.

But I've my baking reputation to maintain.
So with no recipe to make it
I'll just have to try and fake it.
But should I fake it savoury or plain?

I've never known a cake to cause such pain.
There's a jinx and I must break it.
I must grit my teeth and bake it
Although it really goes against the grain.

My urge to bake is truly on the wane.
   Cake's my nightmare. I can't shake it.
If a pill would help I'd take it
If it meant I'd never have to bake again.

P.S.

So, when Mummy leaves her next cake in the rain,
Please bear in mind that Mummy's under strain;
And a cake that needs rebaking
Is a breakdown in the making
For a mother with an overloaded brain.
