It's hailing neutrinos. Though barely detectable
each one's a miniscule meteorite.
Like notional knives through imaginary butter
they pass through the Earth, and through us, day and night
at speeds which approach that of visible light.

They stream from the Sun, from its nuclear inferno,
though stars and reactors contribute a few
(and by few I mean millions every second),
but most folks have been unaware, hitherto,
of this onslaught. It might be best kept entre nous.
