She was female perfection: round of form,
Sweet natured, cheerful, sympathetic, warm.
If you had come to her to rage or weep
Although you woke her when she was asleep
She always made room for you in her bed
And if she had a headache, never said.
She listened; never gave an unsought view
On what she thought you should or shouldn’t do.
She’d eat up chocolates, never moaning that
She shouldn’t have them, they would make her fat.
She could make her voice heard, but she knew when.
We shall not look upon her like again.
