Peas are gorgeous and great in their natural state
But are monstrous when 'mushy' or 'minted'.
Whenever such horrors appear on my plate,
My responses aren't fit to be printed.

Don't mess with perfection! Just leave them alone,
Their genes made them round for a reason.
To 'mush' is to torture (hear how the peas groan),
And to 'mint' is to taste buds pure treason.

No greens are nicer than fresh garden peas,
So I beg for a ban on all others.
The mushers and minters I'd have on their knees
For such sinning, if I had my druthers.
