We picture poets as adroit magicians,
spinning words on wands they craft from air,
and we will print what others do not dare:
send us the work that breaks with all traditions –
the avant garde and edgy – inhibitions
are the burden of the doctrinaire.
Be bold, be brave, be free, and be aware
we don’t read simultaneous submissions.
Submit from 1 December through March 10.
Work sent at other times will be destroyed.
Don’t sound like Yeats, or mention Christ or Freud,
or babble like a gay tragedienne.
No e-mails, please, and just to clarify –
we will respond to you when we reply.
