Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn’t there.
He wasn’t there again today.
Oh, how I wish he’d go away.

                        - Antigonish

Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn’t there.
He said he wasn’t there because
He chose to scoff at physical laws.

Last night I saw upon the stair
A man quite clearly not all there.
His brain, it seemed, had gone to pot,
His conversation sheerest rot.

Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn’t there,
At least not ontologically
In any known philosophy.

Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn’t there,
Nor at the strand nor on the square,
And now he isn’t everywhere!
