There lives a hound in my backyard.
Ignoring it is very hard.
It barks a lot each blessèd day.
It hears a car and starts to bay.
It leaps to greet the neighbor’s dogs.
It runs at squirrels and jumps on frogs.
It scares the birds from any tree.
It ruins lawn and shrubbery.
It digs up pipes laid underground.
It chews on everything around.
Why does my son plead this hound’s case?
He cannot pay for their own place.
