(To the crew of Apollo 11 – Neil Armstrong,
Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin, and Mike Collins – who
boldly went where no human had gone before.)

One Small (Mis) Step

The first man to set foot on the moon
Steered his craft safely down none too soon.
On a prayer and a wing,
He could land anything
But that line we still love to lampoon!

The Ego Has Landed

Let’s hear it for Doc Rendezvous!
After all the vast distance he flew . . .
Second man on the moon?
How inopportune!
Though he did see a beautiful view.

Spaced Out

Mike Collins had time on his hands
To contemplate where a man stands
In relation to space
And the whole human race,
Which seems terribly small till he lands.
