Mary Cresswell

. . . was born and raised in Los Angeles and now lives in New Zealand. After ten years editing the NZ Royal Society's natural history journal, she shifted to freelance work, including writing conservation plans for various native bird species.

She is widely published online, in New Zealand, Australian and Canadian journals, and in the United States, where various of her poems have appeared in Light Quarterly. Her most recent books are Fish Stories: Ghazals and glosas (Canterbury University Press, 2015) and Field Notes: A satiric miscellany (Makaro Press, Wellington, 2017).
