Brendan's dream of a career in poetry was undone by his crippling addiction to regular paychecks. This led him to a job working for his Uncle Sam, where he carves out a decent living sitting in a corner and muttering at his computer (a skill which also serves him well when versifying). He is tolerated (and tragically misunderstood) by editors at The Washington Post, Style Invitational, the Omnificent English Dicitionary in Limerick Form (OEDILF) cabal, and most everyone else who knows him.
