code and produce poetry - . . . ” — Guardian
A bot wrote poems about its lack of knowledge.
It wasn’t that it hadn’t been to college.
There wasn’t any problem it could find.
The problem was, it did not have a mind.
It did not know it had not been to college.
A bot can’t know. It simply can retrieve.
It finds things, but it does not have a mind,
which limits what it can, or will, achieve.
Since it can’t know, it only can retrieve.
Oh, it is “smart,” no question. It can do
a lot of things no person can achieve,
but don’t let that depress you. Only you
Can write real poems. That’s something you can do,
and should. You shouldn’t feel sorry it cannot.
It does not feel, so can’t do things like you.
It does not have a mind. It is a bot.
So let it write about its lack of knowledge.
It would not help if it could go to college.
It does not have a mind. It is a bot.
Don’t make it into something it is not.
