Black Sheep

My cousins all have Ph.D's,
or even better, law degrees.
They might be judges, or affix
their names to laws through politics,
and from their bastions of renown
I know they'd smilingly look down
on me, a girl of slender means,
with verse in little magazines.

Oh, vindicate me, verse!  Be read
for decades after laws are dead.
