We Dutch folk render cheese as kaas,
a word we often need to utter:
a kaaskop is a cheese-head—ass—
and pinda-kaas is peanut butter.
As Arabic has words for sand,
our lexis tends towards lactescence.
A rotten molar's kaas plus tand;
to have geen kaas implies senescence.
Those clouds of methane Frisians fart?
The land of milk and dairy needs 'em.
Let us respect the farmer's art,
and taste the heady joys of Edam.
