Am I alone in thinking our planet home is shrinking?
As people get still taller, the globe indeed seems smaller.
We grow heavier and fatter, making space an urgent matter.
Each quarter-second yields a birth; heaps of babies clog the earth.
The mega-cities groan and strain, attempts to curb them all in vain.
As our numbers rise apace, where to find some extra space?
In a Verne-like submarine or a Wellsian time-machine?
Cursing yet another queue, I hereby pledge myself anew
And make a solemn, binding oath to ‘Zero Population Growth.’
Why should hordes of people breed? I've had my five, that's all I need.
