Baby blue bananas
hanging from a tree,
levitating llamas
drifting over me.
I clutch my melted goggles
as I tell a chatty crab,
“I should have fitted sprinklers in my lab.”

I was engineering oceans,
tweaking DNA,
brewing godly potions
and splicing death away.
The health and safety handbook
well, it all seemed rather drab -
but I should have fitted sprinklers in my lab.

The ectosoup was bubbling,
the methane fumes were doubling,
acid spilt, the gases built,
the smell was more than troubling.
The Van de Graaf threw off a spark,
the fires traced a farty arc
and clouds of bio-wonderment
burst out into the dark...

Phosphorescent sparrows
working out in pairs,
marigolds and marrows
dancing on the stairs.
I tell a nice cadaver
who is giggling on a slab,
“I should have fitted sprinklers in my lab.”
