Leonardo Da Vinci, or Did Color In a Nave
I laboured long to capture Mona Lisa,
And celebrate her beauty in a frame.
I hoped with all my heart that it would please her,
But smiles are rationed strictly by this dame.
With curling lip she vilified my oeuvre,
Declaring me no better than a fake.
Now millions trip to see her in the Louvre,
But then her jibes were really hard to take.
Tonight I'll be unveiling The Last Supper,
And hope to God my efforts have sufficed.
Messiahs, they don't kick you in the crupper,
But as for painted women – Jesus Christ!
