Wouldn’t it be awful
To know all there is to know?
No mysteries to tackle –
No progress we could show.
The universe and life and death
All tied up with a string –
No secrets buried in the earth –
Not one single thing
Left for us to contemplate,
Explore, expand or mull.
Brains would shift to neutral
And the world would be quite dull.
