Donald Sellitti is a Ph.D., and retired after a thirty-eight year career in research and teaching at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, USA. It has been called ‘America’s Medical School’ as it serves to educate America’s future military physicians. Almost all of his students wore cammies to class. His publications number in the fifties, but the closest thing to poetry in them is the rare well-turned phrase in the Discussion section of a medical journal. Nonetheless, he admires the way poets can tackle the same unknowns of life that he has, but in a way that’s more fun to read, and that sometimes rhymes.
