Ellen Hawley McWhirter is a psychologist and professor in Oregon. She writes songs and poetry to avoid doing things she ought to be doing (especially things with a deadline) and for joy. Her work has been published in Lighten Up Online as well as in The New Verse News, and Light's Poems of the Week, and the Journal of Poetry Therapy.
